Hello Namit,

I failed the exam also. Since then, haven't found the time to re-exam. Do yourself a favor and get back in there.

We need more posts from people who fail then later pass. These people are the ones that we learn from most.

Your post is most helpful in getting motivated again. Thanks.

Ravi,

I appreciate your heart in sharing your exam result. It means alot to those of us having a rough time. I failed the 1.4 exam by one question. It was horrible. Threads and Collections kicked my tail.

Everything other topic was average in understanding. I understand the Collection interface better and started writing threads.

Find the questions that give the most trouble. Find time to write code.

Failing the test will make you better!!!

Vivien,

I'm heavily invested in time for the Java 1.4. I'm sure many others are like me. Since I'm not a full-time programmer and I have 1.4 materials, I'll finish the Java 1.4 test.

If you are new to study, then you should go for the Java 1.5. Don't waste your time on the older test.

If you work with the 1.4 and are comfortable, then why not certify 1.4.
Hope this helps.

(check out the slick if statements)

Anyone smart enough to write java exams, has a broad enough knowledge to do certain java work, maybe not all work.

Do they have a deep knowledge or experience to do what you need?

Certified must remain sharp. There's no excuse for that in an interview.

I personally have not written the test. Preparing suggests sacrifice, determination and familiarity of the language. It has been humbling for me.

Why don't more "seasoned pros" get certified after many years? This would add credibility to their assessment of all applicants.

Mitesh,

What tools did you use to pass?

When did you feel you were ready?

A 65% is a fine score.

Congratulations on your career!!!

Amol,

It is wonderful to know Rules Roundup helped! I will start working that into my schedule.

Dan's mocks look good. The world always interrupts me though before completing.

Congratulations!!!

OK, I changed it. Thanks!

Marcus,

That link clearly shows relevance of mocks. Strong relationship between mock result and test result.

So,... take many tests to raise median score.

Thanks
