Thank you, dear.
Yes. I think my book is a good book to start. It assumes you a beginner in the context and teaches you from beginner to advance.

Spring and Hibernate are not alternatives to JSF and JPA. With Hibernate you can still continue JPA development, but now with Hibernate implementation. And with Spring you can work with JSF more easily than before.

Good Luck,

There is a recent book on Spring and Hibernate; you can find more about it at Spring Persistence with Hibernate

In essence, Hibernate is designed to map the object-oriented world to the relational world. So, Hibernate is perfect for projects which have a complicated object hierarchy and a complicated DB schema. Hibernate is not the best choice for data-centric applications which just include raw data and business rules on this data are implemented as procedures in the database-side.

Spring Persistence with Hibernate
Do you catch any exceptions? I need more information about your case to help...
Ahmad Reza Seddighi, the author of Spring Persistence with Hibernate
Transactions are transactions! But in Java applications, there are several APIs (or approaches) to manage transactions:
  • JDBC Transaction API
  • Java Transaction API (JTA)
  • Hibernate Transaction API
  • JPA Transaction API
  • Spring Transaction Abstraction API

  • To manage transactions in Hibernate applications, you can use Hibernate native API, JPA transaction API if you are developing on JPA, JTA if you are developing with multiple transactional resources, or preferably use Spring transaction abstraction API if you are developing Hibernate with Spring. You can find more about transaction management in Spring Persistence with Hibernate

    Spring Persistence with Hibernate
Hibernate and Spring may be used together to develop most effective code in the data tier and solve problems related to this tier, such as managing transactions, handling exceptions, and so on. But to develop the whole application, we may use other frameworks to develop other tiers of the application; and this is when we use a framework such as Struts with Hibernate; Struts for the presentation tier and Hibernate for data tier.

Spring Persistence with Hibernate (Packt Publishing)
I suggest you, Spring Persistence with Hibernate (Packt Publishing), that teaches you Hibernate with JPA with simple and comprehensive examples. With this book, you can also learn Spring integration since Hibernate is almost used with Spring. Here, you can find more about this book: Spring Persistence with Hibernate, By Ahmad Reza Seddighi
    Hi dears,
I know how to deploy and test a servlet in tomcat 4.0.27, (just by copying servletname.class file in TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/classes and using http://localhost:8080/servlet/servletname in browser)

but doing this in tomcat 4.1.27 did now worked correctly, does anyone know how can I solve it?

    Hi Dear,

I created HelloServlet.java servlet and compiled it, then I copied it in TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/classes/ in tomcat 4.0.27.
but when I want to use tomcat 4.1.30 instead of 4.0.27, I coud not do it, because in tomcat 4.1.30 all of *.war files do not extracted when tomcat get started, and if I create new directory in webapps folder and create WEB-INF/classes forlders, at final it will not work.

when using server side component, I think it's better that you don't throw new exception rather than RemoteException to client side, but in client you can catch RemoteException and according your application, handle it.

    be success
