I did better the first time but I am not concerned, most schools look at the best of the two. My best was 680, I am happy with it.

Yeah, tell me about it. I should be looking for a new job. I am taking GMAT on Tuesday and after that I will spend the afternoon looking. I have had it.

So, what do you do if you learn that your company punishes people if they take sabbaticals by not promoting them?
What do you do if your boss is micromanaging your employees (you yourself are supposed to be a manager), never really assigns specific tasks to anyone or formalizes any roles?

Thanks, Bear for your response. Can you elaborate on what you mean by "write an action"?
Thanks!

I am wondering if there is a way to configure escapeXML to be false always. I believe the default is true. I would like to do this for an entire web app.

Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks,

Mark,
Thanks for your response. I am pretty sure I can do better, I just did not have enough time and energy to focus on the test due to my work responsibilities. It seems to me that I have 2 choices-
Quit working (even though it paid about 120K this year) and pay full attention to test.
or
Keep working and give GMAT a try again.

You see, I am not happy to be making good money now, I want to ensure an interesting job and good money for the coming years. So, any feedback will be appreciated.

Anand,
Go to gmatclub.com. You will find plenty of gmat takers. I spent 2.5 months, took Princeton Review classes in Minneapolis. Did Official Guide, some Kaplan test and POWERPREP. Goodluck!

Amit,
Thanks but you make me feel old

Hi Mark,
I am curious if you had to score over 700 in GMAT to look at top name business schools. I got a 680 last week and I am not quite sure what to make out of it. I do have solid GPA with two technical masters degrees, 13 years of solid IT experience with some management experience. I am also a female and American citizen. So, I am wondering if I would have a shot at some of the top name schools. Or should I just hit the books again and take GMAT in a month. Pl. let me know,
Thanks!

I am a tech lead now but I only agreed to it because
#1. I seem to estimate and finish projects better than some others. So, my job now is to help them rather than to control them. (I work for them, not vice versa). I am not their manager.
#2. I plan to do this one more year and go get an MBA. So, I need the interaction and some leadership back ground. That is what I ultimately want to do.

Oh yeah, I lived in Detroit area for 1 year. I will never ever move back there.

In terms of job opportunities + quality of (City) life, Minneapolis is the best. I love MO for a vacation but no jobs there.

Here is a piece of advice -
Avoid any state whose name starts w/ "M" except Minnesota.

1. Most programmers that post here are indian programmers from India. So, what? India happens to have the most programming jobs at the moment.
2. There are more IT Indian programmers because a lot of Indians moved to the states in the nineties. They have green cards and some of them don't mind lower wages. The others are bright people and already moved on to higher level positions.
2. I interviewed some Indian women that were married to indian guys that had green cards. However, a lot of them were not technically as competant. I did meet a few good ones but may be just 10% or so are real good.
3. It is incorrect that employees will bring Indians into US on H1B because they will accept lower wages. We are hiring where I work and we are not sponsoring any one because there is an abundant supply of programmers locally.
