I have several parameters (just strings) that need to be updatedable after EAR is deployed into WebSphere 6.
In Tomcat I just used parameters in web.xml or context.xml, but in WebSphere deployment descriptor is read-only in admin console and I have no permissions to edit web.xml in file system. I'm lost, please help.
What is the proper way to define simple string updatable parameters for enterprise applications in WebSphere?

Hello!

Anybody proficient in Jacl? I need a script, which could
1. Check if application A is already installed and then
2. If it isn't - installs and starts it
3. If it is already installed - updates and starts it (if it's been stopped).

I've implemented that logic via several Ant runs, but it seems to be deadly slow, I believe a single Jacl script would be a better solution.

Hello!

I'm trying to generate WSDL with ant and WebSphere 5.1.2. The problem
is that Java2WSDL task can't find the class. I believe I tried
everything, but keep getting
[Java2WSDLTask] java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
Multiconn.Cobol.Web.Services.F
oreignCurrencyConvertor_SEI
[Java2WSDLTask] at
com.ibm.ws.webservices.wsdl.fromJava.ClassFactory.for
Name(ClassFactory.java:82)

How basically I should to define the location of file to be processed?

Here is what I tried:
<taskdef name="Java2WSDLTask"<br /> classname="com.ibm.websphere.ant.tasks.Java2WSDL"<br /> classpath="d:/temp/conv2/WEB-INF/classes">
<classpath>
<pathelement path="d:/temp/conv2/lib/JeXperanto.jar"/>
<pathelement path="d:/temp/conv2/WEB-INF/classes"/>
</classpath>
</taskdef>

I'm running the script with ws_ant.bat. The class is in the CLASSPATH
too.
What's teh proper way to define classpath for the Java2WSDL task?

Hello!

I desperately need this article "Automate Deployment with WSADMIN and Apache Ant" at http://websphereadvisor.com/doc/12852, but it seems to be only available to paid subscribers.
Anybody with access to the article - please be so kind to send it to me privately to olegt@multiconn.com ?

Hello!

I wonder if there is a way to deploy a java bean as Web Service automatically?
I mean the input is java bean and outcome of the process is deployed and running Web Service. How this can be implemented for WebSphere 5.1?
