I've found out that the archive tag is needed.
archive = "jmf.jar" and I have the jar file in the same directory as the applet file

my programs compile but when I run the applet i get the following error
the morphcam class extends JPanel and uses the jmf package, and Morph has got the morphcam panel added to it.
i would like to know why i get the following erro
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/media/CaptureDeviceManager
at MorphCam.(MorphCam.java:63)
at Morph.(Morph.java:47)

will anybody not help me, I do not understand what i need to do ive read the applet tag doc and tried some alternate methods but to no avail.

The codebase in the applet tag is a directory name, i've tried having the jar file in the same directory but it still does not seem to work, Ive tried the codebase as follows "C:\JMF-2.1.1e\lib\jmf.jar", ".", "jmf.jar", but nothing seems to work.

i'm not 100% sure whether its not working because of the applet codebase. Could it be another problem.

Other clients are not required to access the program, i've basicllay developed a webcam applet which compiles fine as Ive imported the java media packages but it wont run i'm assuming it is a problem with my applet code. Ive read the applet doc, and dont know of anything different that I need to do.

I forgot it was April fools day. lol

Hi everyone,
Ive created an applet in java for which displays images
on a canvas, it also has panels for the buttons and components.
I have used the paint method for displaying the images.
The problem I'm haveing is that when I run the applet the
panels are painted over, such that only the buttons are
visible but the panels borders are just painted over.

Can you please tell me why when I invoke the paint method my panels and Menubar and sometimes buttons are painted over.
It'll paint the image in the panel but ma other components and panel will be jst covered white
