Dear All,

I'm facing a struts validation problem with minlength, the validation alert message will be like this

customer name cann't be less than null characters, I check everything in the validation.xml everything are defined correctly

<field property="beneficiary.account.number" depends="required,maxlength, minlength, integer">
<arg0 key="label.transfers.BeneficiaryAccountNumber" />
<arg1 key="${var:maxlength}" name="maxlength" resource="false" />
<arg2 key="${var:minlength}" name="minlength" resource="false" />
<var>
<var-name>maxlength</var-name>
<var-value>13</var-value>
</var>
<var>
<var-name>minlength</var-name>
<var-value>13</var-value>
</var>
</field>

I found the cause of the problem, The problem is because the application server contains a older version of
Rhino's js.jar, while BIRT uses the latest version (1.6RC1). Because the js.jar
in the application server is loaded before the one in BIRT, the older version
of class org.mozilla.javascript.Context is loaded. Since the older version of
class org.mozilla.javascript.Context doesn't contain function
initStandardObjects, a runtime java.lang.NoSuchMethodError happened.

its a bug on eclipse Bugzilla Bug site with no 105853
this is the link to this bug:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=105853

I test the solution with websphere application server V5.1 and it works.

Dear All,

I'm using tiles as a page template, when ever an exception error occurs in the JSP , the <error-page> in web.xml is not working, also defining the error page in the same JSP is not working, is this a bug in struts 1.1?

I found the solution to my problem, it seems its a bug reported in struts, the solution is to override the proccess method in the RequestProcessor class as following :

public void process(
HttpServletRequest request,
HttpServletResponse response)
throws IOException, ServletException {
try {
request.setCharacterEncoding("utf-8");
} catch (Exception ex) {

}
super.process(request, response);
}

the bug was reported in the following link:

I'm already using org.apache.struts.upload.FormFile but the problem is with non-english characters , the characters became rubbish

Dear All,
I'm using enctype="multipart/form-data" in the html:form tag, the Upload Page has many fields other than the file path field, whenever I use the Upload JSP page , the data in the other fields became rubbish(NON English Characters) , because of the enctype="multipart/form-data" in the form tag, should I make the upload thing in a pop menu so I don't use enctype in the JSP page, or there is a solution to my problem??

Thanks in advance

Dear All,

Im trying to pass a file between the Web container to the EJB container, does any one knows how it can be done since EJB doesn't have access to the file system?

Ok thanks , it solves my problem , it seems that I write it multipart/formdata rather than multipart/form-data.

Again Thank You

Dear All,

Im trying to upload a file using dynamic action forms in struts , whenever I'm trying to upload the file the following exception is thrown :

SRVE0026E: [Servlet Error]-[BeanUtils.populate]: org.apache.commons.beanutils.ConversionException: Cannot assign value of type 'java.lang.String' to property 'lbFile' of type 'org.apache.struts.upload.FormFile'

to define the dynaActionForm in the struts config I use the following string:

<form-bean name="listLBPaymentsForm" type="org.apache.struts.action.DynaActionForm">
<form-property name="bills" type="com.sts.sme.lb.LBPayment[]" />
<form-property name="dynaApplication" type="com.sts.sme.lb.LBApplicationRequest" />
<form-property name="lbFile" type="org.apache.struts.upload.FormFile"/>
</form-bean>

in the jsp page:
<html:file property="lbFile" title="Upload Authorization" />

So anyone have any idea why struts excpect string rather than FileForm

Yeah the IBM API is required on the exam , but most of the questions will be on the JSR 168 , also be aware that the questions in the sample test is much much much easier than the actual exam, I just pass the exam and the difference in difficulty was obvious for me.

Good Luck
