The Best Topics feature is the way to personalize the topics you want to see from the Forums you like on a separate Best Topics page.

Where do I find the Best Topics page?

The Best Topics page is found at the top of the Forums page.

How do I influence the Best Topics?

Click on the Rate Forums button:

Below every Forum you will now see 10 horseshoes:

If you hover your mouse over the horseshoes you can change the rating per Forum. If you don't want to see any Topics from a particular Forum you can click the zero on the left of the horseshoes:

What Topics are selected per Forum?

We have a magic algorithm that picks the best topics in the forums you like the most. In the example above you will find that the Web Services Certification Forum will have a stronger influence on the topics shown in the best topics page then the EJB Certification. You won't find any Web Component Certification topics in the Best Topics section.

Columns: Best this year and Best this month

The Best Topics feature also brought 2 new columns in the Forum view. These columns are filled with the best scoring topics (according to our magic algorithm).

The number of cows that are shown are related to score of that Topic. Note that the cows have no relation to the number of cows given in that thread. The more cows are shown, the better score the Topic has.

You showed up just in time for the waffles! And this tiny ad:
